I am planning out my yearly calendar purchases. I am making out a list of all the things that I am getting this year and distributing the purchases for each month of the year. I am a big time planner.
I am thinking of getting Addy's rope bed and wash stand. Do any of you have those items and do you like them?
Thanks.

We just added Addy to our extended family (my sister) but we don't have any furniture. Can't wait to hear what the board has to say.

We don't have any of Addy's furniture, but I've seen the bed & like it very much even though I'm not sure how sturdy it is. No opinion on the night stand. The quilt is just beautiful! I think as a young girl Laura Ingalls would have had a bed similar unless I'm remembering the books wrong. Good luck making your choice!!

I have Addy's bed, pre-Mattel and it is very cute and authentic but it falls apart!! The legs keep coming off no matter what my dad does to them to make them stay and the ropes sag after awhile. I haven't tried to fix them yet to see if I can tighten them. It does not come with a rope tightener.
Addy's quilt is incredible! The patches are printed panels but quilted around to give it the authentic look. The quilt is a small part of a real life African American album quilt made by a former slave. It has a cute little ruffle around the edge. The only problem is that it is square and it doesn't cover Addy completely. I like to cover the girls' heads so they don't get so dusty while sleeping, and they stay nice and warm.

Ditto- I have Addy and most of her clothes and accessories, but no furniture yet except her school desk. Looking forward to everyone's comments. As for the school desk, I love it. It's big enough to comfortably sit two dolls and has space to store their books and things underneath. I think it's very well made.
I'm also curious about her table and chairs. I'm thinking about just getting some 1/3 scale reproduction ladderback chairs that match an antique salesman sample table I have instead. Her table doesn't look very roomy, and round tables for me are so much harder to store than rectangular ones. Opinions, anyone?

I do not have the nightstand but I do love the bed. I put a bit of sealing wax on the screws amd it does hold them together. My bed is pre-Mattel and I am also sure this is the kind of bed Laura Ingalls would have had.

We have Addy's bed and quilt, and really like them. We haven't had a problem with it becoming "loose," although I've heard that it is a problem for some. The quilt is absolutely beautiful--it's one of my favorite AG items.
Addy's bed is very similar to the Springfield collection rope bed, although Addy's is of a lighter shade of wood.

Oh boy! Now I don't know whether to get Addy's bed or not. Some of you like it and some don't. I was wondering about the rope eventually getting loose. I was actually thinking of getting Addy's bed for Marisol. Addy's bed looks a little better to me that Josefina's and it could pass for a Mexican bed too. I guess I just don't like the green color in Josefina's bed too much. I wish it was wood color like Addy's.

Hello! I have Addy's bed and washstand and I love them both. They really look like antique furniture and it is easy to imagine them being from the 1800s. The bed legs only get loose if they aren't screwed in tightly. Otherwise they are fine and as far as the ropes stretching, it isn't that noticeable and it would be fairly simple to re-rope the bed if needed years down the road. It just makes it seem very authentic. The quilt is really gorgeous but one word of warning...don't wash it! The red tends to bleed onto the cream background. I would get it dry-cleaned if necessary. It is one of my favorite accessories because of the details in the design and also the fact that it is reversible (a lot of people don't know this until they buy it)the underneath side is a black and white check pattern - it looks very cosy turned down on Addy's bed. The washstand is sturdy and the drawer holds her reading book (also very nice) and sometimes I sneak her tin of candy in there too. I am very happy with both. The nightime necessities are not as delicate as say Samantha's but the pitcher and bowl are very pretty with a ivy design sculpted into the ironstone ivory glaze. Hope this helps! PS. Addy's Scenes and Settings has a GREAT bedroom section and her furniture looks so awesome there. I will try to post some pictures once I figure out how to do it on this hostboard.
